Hide Tired Eyes!

Prep your eyes to perfection with Hollywood celeb makeup artist Julia Taylor’s go-to routine. Great makeup always starts with great skincare! Here’s how Julia created a flawless look for Candice Neill (pictured) to help hide tired eyes.

SKIN PREP

Candice’s skin was prepped with Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum, followed by Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Refreshing Hydra Gel Moisturizer and Amore Pacific Moisture Bound eye cream.

JULIA’S TIP: Remember to work in thin layers for both your skincare and makeup. This will give optimal results and a longer-lasting wear.

FOUNDATION AND HIGHLIGHTS

Candice is wearing the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD, applied with a damp Beauty Blender, and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer for spot coverage. To brighten under the eyes and highlight the center of the face, Julia used Givenchy Mister Light concealer. For the contour, Julia used the cream contour stick by Smashbox and Tom Ford Bronzer to add a bit of warmth to the face, as well as Laura Mercier blush in Rose, applied to the apples of the cheeks. Candice’s face was set with a powder puff , using Laura Mercier’s Translucent powder.

THE EYES

For the eyes, Julia first applied Shadow Insurance primer by Too Faced. The eyeshadow was kept quite simple, with a matte bone-colored shadow on the eyelid and a medium warm brown in the crease and outer third of the eyes. Julia loves using bronzer as eyeshadow and crease color.

The eye look was finished by curling the lashes with Kevyn Aucoins lash curler and the application of Givenchy Noir Couture mascara, plus a few individual lashes by Ardell.

JULIA’S TIP: Using bronzer makes your entire eye look more cohesive. You can even add some of your blush color to the eyeshadow to tie everything together for color harmony across the face. Another great tip is to add your bronzer as a ‘drop shadow’ under the bottom eyelashes with a small eyeshadow brush. This will instantly camouflage puffiness or eye bags and make the eyes look bigger and more open.

THE LIPS

Candice’s lips were lined with Givenchy lipliner #10 all over the lips and coated with Dior lipstick in 434 Promenade.
